Part of the Concorde range of horseshoes, the Concorde Race Plate Wedge has all the features of the Concorde shoe, but with a wedged heel.
The wedge shoe has the shape of a typical horseshoe but instead of being one thickness, the back of the shoe is higher to make a wedge. The angle of the wedge gradually reduces from the back to the front of the shoe so it is only the heel that is more elevated.
The degree of elevation varies, depending on the needs of the horse for this type of shoe.
The Concorde Aluminum Race Plate comes with a two-degree elevation in a hind shoe. The aluminum shoe is toe clipped.
